Window in memory of Samuel Wilson (next to Cockshott window)

Dated 1869. According to Pevsner, this window too was made by Clayton and Bell. However, a church magazine gives the maker as “Edmondson” (prob. R B Edmundson of Manchester)

Two main panels, one below and one above gallery, each divided into 3 lights. Between are three lights with scenes.
Gallery level: Decorative painted grisaille design, with roses and oak leaf borders in all three lights. Above between lights, two angels and above them a dove (symbol of Holy Spirit).

Left Scene: “ I was hungry and you fed me”(Matthew 25:35)
Centre Scene: Parable of Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) – which could illustrate “I was a stranger and you took me in”, the other part of Matthew 25:35
Right Scene: “I was thirsty and you gave me drink” (Matthew 25:35)
Below Gallery: Lower lights: each with an inscription below
Left Scene: Transfiguration (Matthew 17: 1-6) “This is my beloved son, hear him”
Centre Scene: Crucifixion (John 19:26) “It is finished”
Right Scene: Resurrection (Matthew 28:4) “I am the resurrection and the life”
